Opening an Estimate |
NOTE-- We retired MacNail estimating in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for their use! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. It stores each estimate as a database record, so you won't have hundreds of files cluttering your hard drive. Open Estimate Choose *Open Estimate... when you want to open an estimate that you already have created in the MacNail construction estimating software. The estimate must be in the Current estimates folder for MacNail to be able to find it. If you already have an estimate open and there is not enough memory you will be asked if you want to close the first estimate. An Open Estimate dialog box will then appear. All estimates in the Current estimates folder will be displayed--in alphabetical order. Scroll through them if they don't all fit in the box. Double-click on the file you would like to open, or click on it once and then click OK. NOTE: To have more than one estimate open at one time in the MacNail construction estimating software, you will need at least 2 megabytes of RAM. You will also need to use Excel version 2.2 or higher. If planning to use MultiFinder with Excel, you should probably have at least 4 megabytes of RAM. Command key shortcut: Option-Command-O. |
