Condensed Estimates |
NOTE-- We retired MacNail estimating in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for their use! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. Goldenseal already stores each estimate in very compact form, so there is no need to condense it any further! Condense Estimate Choose *Condense Estimate to create a reduced-size version of an estimate created in the MacNail construction estimating software. A condensed estimate includes the Summation and Dimensions from the estimate. If the original estimate includes a Clearinghouse, you may elect to include it. A condensed estimate uses much less disk space than a full estimate. It also opens and saves more quickly. Use a Condensed Estimate to create job Cost Control sheets in MacNail Accounting. To store all relevant information from an estimate, create a Project List as well (see page 133). HINT: Since floppy disk space is so inexpensive, we recommend that you keep at least a condensed version of every estimate you make--even if you don't get the job. Each condensed estimate will be given a name that includes the word 'condensed'. For
example: The condensed estimate will be stored in the Current reports folder. NOTE: Old Condensed estimates are replaced
by new ones. See note, page 129. |
