Printing Estimates

NOTE-- We retired MacNail estimating in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for their use! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. In Goldenseal there are six printed form layouts you can use for estimates and proposals, plus several reports showing more details for estimates.

Printing Estimates

Choose *Print Estimate to print part or all of an estimate created in the MacNail construction estimating software.

A dialog box will allow you to choose which section of the estimate will be printed.printing, MacNail commands
* Entire Worksheet will print everything in the entire worksheet. It will take up 10 to 50 pages, depending on which estimator and font sizes you use. HINT: Set the font to 14 or 16 point, and use Page Setup to print at 50% reduction.
* Dimensions and Specifications will print the respective sections of the worksheet. To print the Unit Prices included in the Specifications list, be sure that they are showing. Choose *Reset Unit Price Display if they are not.
* Clearinghouse gives a very detailed, several-page report of project costs.
* Summation is the area you will most often want to print. It gives a compact one-page report that is useful for client presentations.

Check Show Print Dialog if you wish to see the Excel print dialog box. It will give you access to Print Preview and other printing features.
