Opening Estimate Reports

NOTE-- MacNail estimating was retired in 2000, and replaced with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for their use! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. As a standalone program, it always provides you with functional menu commands-- no need for a separate macro file.

Working without the Estimating Manager

In some cases you may want to look at and make changes in your worksheets without using the Estimating Manager.

Reports

To open a report:

1. If you are on the desktop: open the estimates folder, then open the Current reports folder. Double-click on the desired report.
2. If you are already in Excel: choose Open from the FILE menu. Open the Current reports folder. You may have to use the file finder to get inside the Current reports folder (see page 175).
3. Double-click on the file you would like to work with.

When you open a chart, a dialog box will ask 'update references to non-resident sheets'. Click Cancel.
