Price Updating

Problem

Changing an Assembly or Cost Item does NOT update unit prices in an Estimate or Sale.

Diagnosis

In existing Estimate or Sales records--

Goldenseal construction estimating software does that by design. It would be bad news if it changed prices in an existing Sale or Estimate that was already paid for, or under contract.

If you want to use latest pricing in an Estimate, click the Update Prices button.

In new Estimate or Sale--

Take a look at the Assembly or Cost Item record (can just double-click in a non-editable cell).

Check the Project cost on the right side of the window. If it's manual (cell is editable) then assembly or component price changes will have no effect in Goldenseal estimating software. It will keep using whatever price they've typed in.

Solution

They need to change it to a calculated price, or else type in a new price manually.
