NOTE-- The
MacNail construction software program is now retired-- we replaced it
with Goldenseal construction software in
2000. Goldenseal is an integrated program that handles simple construction
project scheduling, plus accounting, construction
estimating, and project
management.
Project Scheduling Directories for Windows
The original MacNail Schedules disk comes already set
up with the correct directory arrangement (table, above).
When you drag the MACNAIL directory from
the SCHEDULES floppy disk to your hard disk, this
directory arrangement
will remain intact.
MacNail Scheduling commands will automatically keep your files tidy by
storing them in separate directories located within the Schedule directory.
WARNING: Do not rename
the Schedule directory, or any of the subdirectories within it! The MacNail construction scheduling
software needs a consistent arrangement of directories to work properly.
The contents of the Schedule directory are as follows:
* SCHEDULE.XLM, The Scheduling Manager creates new schedules for you, creates a material takeoff list from
any schedule, and lets you change schedule items.
* The CURRSCHD directory holds current schedules for active jobs.
*
The CURRRMDS directory holds current reminder lists for each active job, plus the Master Reminder List (which
covers all jobs). The reminder lists are "to-do" lists where you can jot down reminders of any kind. Also
included in this directory is a Double Check List (see page 55).
* The TAKEOFFS directory holds material takeoff lists and tool lists.
*
The SCHDBLKS directory holds blank "template" worksheets that are used to create new scheduling files.
* The INSPECTS directory holds several inspection sheets designed for on-site quality control inspections for
each phase of construction. The *Inspections command allows you to print them as needed (see page 65). This
directory also will contain punch lists for each subcontractor or employee group (see page 65).

* The SCHDREPS directory holds extractions. These are special reports that list only those reminders that match
criteria that you set up (see page 62).
