Schedules Folder- Macintosh

NOTE-- In 2000 we retired MacNail, and replaced it with the improved Goldenseal construction software. However we still keep the manuals online, for die-hard MacNail users! Goldenseal is an integrated program that handles accounting, construction estimating, and project management, plus simple construction project scheduling. For Macintosh and Windows computers, Goldenseal is one of the best-known programs for construction companies.

Project Schedules Folder

The original MacNail Scheduling disk comes already set up with the correct folder arrangement. When you drag the Schedules folder from the MacNail Scheduling floppy disk to your hard disk, this folder arrangement will remain intact.

MacNail Scheduling commands will keep your files tidy, automatically, by storing them in separate folders located within the Schedules folder.

Note that the actual physical layout on the screen is not critical, although you should have each of the listed files and folders immediately inside the Schedules folder.

WARNING: Do not rename the Schedules folder! It must be named "Schedules" for certain transfers to work.

WARNING: Do not rename any of the folders within the Schedules folder! The MacNail construction scheduling software will not be able to function if it doesn't recognize its folder names.

The contents of the Schedules folder are as follows:
* Scheduling Manager 3.0 creates new schedules for you, creates a material takeoff list from any schedule, and lets you change schedule items.
* The Current Schedules folder holds schedules for active jobs. If you have any existing schedules created by earlier versions of MacNail, put them here.
* The Current Reminders folder holds reminder lists for each active job, plus the Master Reminder List (which covers all jobs). The reminder lists are "to-do" lists where you can jot down reminders of any kind. Also included in this folder is a Double-Check List (see page 58).
* The Material Takeoffs folder holds material takeoff lists and tool lists.
