Restoring Estimating Formulas

NOTE-- In 2000 we completely replaced MacNail with the newer Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for their use! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, job costing and contract writing features. Goldenseal uses calculators instead of Excel formulas, to calculate the quantity of each estimating line item. Most other math happens automatically.

Restoring Estimating Formulas

If you accidentally lose a formula choose undo from the EDIT menu. If it is too late to use Undo, revert to a previously saved version if available. Otherwise:
1. Open one of the original estimators on your backup, (or an intact estimate).
2. Select the cell you need to replace and
3. Select Copy from the EDIT Menu.
HINT: If you have several formulas to replace and can only have one estimate open at a time, open a new worksheet from the FILE menu and Paste the formulas onto it temporarily.
4. Close this estimate if necessary and open the damaged estimate.
5. Select the damaged cell and select Paste from the EDIT menu.
