Printing Estimates

NOTE-- In 2000 we replaced MacNail with Goldenseal construction estimating software. Some people still use MacNail, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. Our newer computer software program has a Print Forms command that you can use to print professional-looking proposals and business forms.

Printing Estimates

You can choose *Print Estimate or *Print Selection (see page 119) to print out any part of the estimate. They are a vast improvement over Excel's normal (and awkward) printing methods.

You can also choose *Quick Summary to generate a report, with blank summation items removed, and profit 'hidden'. The advantage of a report is that you can 'tinker' with it for printing without having to permanently change the look of the original estimate.

If you would like to change the header that is printed at the top of every page, choose Page Setup from the FILE menu, and replace the text in the header with your own company name.
