Setting Memory Partition

NOTE-- In 2000 we replaced MacNail with Goldenseal construction estimating software. Some people still use MacNail, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. You don't need to set the memory partition for Goldenseal, since newer versions of Macintosh and Windows computers do that automatically.

Setting Memory Partition for MacNail Estimating Software

To set a memory partition size for Excel:

1. Quit Excel.
2. Click once on the Excel application icon to select it.
3. Choose Get Info from the FILE menu.
4. For Excel 1.5--type 1000 (K) into the 'memory size' box at the lower right.
5. For Excel 2.2--enter any number you wish. We recommend at least 1000. You can adjust it up from there depending on your needs and the memory available in your computer.

NOTE-- Mac OS X and Windows computers automatically set the memory partition for each software program.
