Estimating Specifications |
NOTE-- In 2000 we introduced Goldenseal construction estimating software, and retired MacNail and BidMagic (our previous estimating programs). There are still die-hard users out there, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, job costing and project management features. It uses an item breakdown in Estimate records, to list the specific items included in the project. Goldenseal shows only some items in the list, and makes the rest available from a popup list. Step 3--Set Specifications The Specifications list is a 'checklist' of about 1000 construction items, arranged by categories. It controls exactly which items will be used in the project. To use the Specifications list: Enter specs directly into the MacNail construction estimating software To go to the Specifications list: 1. Choose *Specifications from the MacNail menu. HINT: You can create your own custom estimators that will automatically include the
construction items you normally use (see page 144). Use them as a 'blank form' so you won't have
to do as much setup work on each job. |
