Estimating Demolition |
NOTE--We retired MacNail in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still die-hard MacNail users out there, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is a complete small-business software package that also includes accounting, job costing and project management features. You'll enter demolition dimensions into the Structural Dimensions screen, in each Goldenseal Estimate. Contact Length For an addition, type in the total length of contact between the new addition and the existing building. For a multi-story addition, add up the contact length on each floor and type in the sum of the lengths. For other types of projects, type in 0 (zero). If you are building a completely new wall between the old and new structures, include it in with interior partitions, don 't include it here. Wall Demolition A 'suggested' value, for the length of existing walls that will either be knocked down or gutted, will be displayed in this cell. Type a new number to change the value that was calculated by the MacNail construction estimating software. HINT: To see the latest calculated value choose Calculate Now from the OPTIONS menu. Demolition area A 'suggested' value, for the square footage (area) in the existing
structure that will have its ceilings and/or floors either knocked down or gutted, will be displayed in this
cell. Type in a new number to change it. |
