Estimate Abbreviations

NOTE-- We replaced MacNail with Goldenseal construction estimating software back in 2000. There are still die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for their use! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, job costing and project management features. In Goldenseal, there are Unit Sizes which define the quantities for each line item in estimates.

Estimating Abbreviations

CThe MacNail construction estimating software uses the following abbreviations:

BX--box (50# box of nails)
CY or CU. YD.--cubic yard
DR--door
DZ--dozen
EA--each
FLT--flight (of stairs)
HRS--hours
LF or LIN FT.--lineal foot (one foot in length).
SF or SQ. FT.--square foot
SQ. or square--square (100 sq. ft) in roofing only
TB--tube (of caulk)
TRD--tread (stairs)
W/D--window or door (for casings, etc).
WNDW or WN--window
