Subcontractor Charge Rates

Use Subcontractor Charge Rates to enter the hourly or weekly rates that you pay to subcontractors.
HINT-- To set up the amount you charge customers for subcontractor work, use a Subcontractor Billing Rate.

Entering Subcontractor Charge Rates

To enter a Subcontractor Charge Rate, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Cost Setup from the Costs menu, then choose Subcontractor Charges from the submenu.
  2. Click the New button, or click on an existing item and click the Edit button.
  3. Enter details for the charge rate.

Data Fields

Enter the following information for each Subcontractor Charge Rates:

Name-- Type in a brief name for this subcontractor charge rate. This is the text that will appear in clairvoyant fields.
Description-- Type in any comments you'd like to make about this item.
Calculation Method-- Choose Dollar Rate to enter a fixed dollar rate. Choose Variable Rate to use a different rate for each subcontractor.
Amount-- If you chose Dollar Rate as a calculation method, enter the dollar amount the subcontractor charges per unit of time.
Startup Cost-- If the subcontractor charges a flat fee in addition to the hourly rate, enter it here.

Using Subcontractor Charge Rates

Enter a Subcontractor Charge Rate into each Subcontractor account that charges you on an hourly, daily or weekly basis.

When you enter Subcontractor Costs, Goldenseal will fill in the usual charge rate.
