7" Metal Chimney Installation Cost |
Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION Construction estimating unit cost for a double wall metal chimney. This price is for the straight chimney run-- it does not include elbows, floor sleeves, top cap or other fittings. The labor costs are for a fairly simple run up an exterior wall, with maybe one cut through a wall or roof in a 20 foot run. Add extra labor if the project requires several floor cuts or other serious futzing. You can probably reduce the labor cost for new construction with the chimney in an interior chase. Unit Size One lineal foot of chimney. Labor Costs We figure about 4 lineal feet per hour of work by a mason or carpenter, plus a little unskilled assistance. Material Costs One foot of Double wall chimney (priced by the inch) plus a fastener allowance. Suggested Quantity Goldenseal suggests the calculated height from ground level to the highest roof point. It's usually a good guess for rough estimates, but you'll probably need to adjust the height based on the actual geometry of the project. Source of Construction Pricing Based on job cost data from one or two chimney installation projects. Places Included Architect Starter File, Construction Starter File, Developer Starter File Comments Click here for more about Goldenseal construction estimating software.
