Category Table Sorts

Feature

Starting with Goldenseal accounting and estimating software version 4.6, sorting the rows in a breakdown table will put the rows in the same order as the categories and subcategories of the Category System used for the record. In earlier versions, the sort was alphabetical instead.

How to Use

To do a category sort on the rows in a breakdown table in an Estimate or other business record, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Sort from the Edit menu.
  2. Enter Breakdown Rows into the Sort Item popup field.
  3. Click on Category or Subcategory, from the list of table columns.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Goldenseal will sort the rows into the same order as the Category System used for the record.

NOTE-- If the record does not use a Category System, it will still sort alphabetically.
