Sorting Records

The Sort command arranges the current list of found items into numerical or alphabetical order. The sort can be based on the contents of any field.

To sort records, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Sort from the Edit menu.
  2. Choose the field to use as a sorting criteria, and click one of the buttons to determine whether to use ascending or descending order.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Goldenseal will automatically sort the found records into the order you selected.
  5. The records will stay in sorted order until you do a different sort, or until you use the Find or Find All command.

Sorting Breakdowns

In a record with a breakdown table, you can sort the rows in alphabetic or numeric order, based on the values in any column.

To sort a breakdown table, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Sort from the Edit menu.
  2. Click the Breakdown Items button.
  3. Choose the table column to use as a sort criteria.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Goldenseal will automatically sort the table rows into the order you selected.
