QB Switch-- Finding Records |
The Quickbooks Find command looks in all types of records at once, and shows you a list of matching items. The Goldenseal Find command works on all records of a given type. It shows the matching items in the regular browser window (similar to FileMaker, Access and other database programs). For example, to find all purchases from a vendor, follow these steps:
HINT: If you want to find a broader range of accounts or transactions, you can use some of the report commands. For example, choose Banking from the Reports menu and then choose All Bank Transactions to see all bank transactions in one place. Choose Accounts from the Reports menu, then choose Chart of Accounts to see all accounts in one place. Working with Found Records After you find records, Goldenseal allows you to make adjustments to the list of found items. You can sort them into any order, omit some items, or find matches within the current found items. That can often help you to find a specific record when don't remember all the details. You can base Goldenseal reports on the found items, or print them with the Print Forms command. You can also use the Flag box at the lower left side of each window to mark a few items for special attention. Click here for general info about differences
