Network Client Setup |
What kind of computers can I use as clients? You can use any Macintosh or Windows computer as a client. If you are connecting via a LAN (Local Area Network), the client will need an EtherNet card, and you'll need to be connected to an EtherNet router. If you are connecting via a wireless network, you'll need to have computers that include wireless networking. You'll also need a wireless router or "base station" to connect the computers. You can use any Macintosh (except for a few extremely old models built prior to 1998) Any Windows computer with Windows 98, Win NT, Win 2000, Win ME, Win XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 or WIndows 8 will work as a client. HINT-- If you have both Macs and Windows machines, and don't care which platform to use as a client, you'll probably find that Macs perform slightly faster, since they are better at handling screen graphics.
