Include In Starter File

What should I put into the Include in Starter File checkbox in my accounts?

Usually it doesn't matter what you put into the Include in Starter File checkbox, which is present in most accounts for Goldenseal accounting software.

There are a few cases when you may find it useful to use this checkbox:

  • If you have more than one company file, and want to export some accounts to a different file to "clone" a file.
  • If you want to 'start over' with a new company file for some reason.
  • If you are creating a Starter File, so someone else can start out with some accounts pre-entered

In those cases, you can export a Starter File, which will include only those accounts with the checkbox turned on. Before you make the export, change the checkbox so it only includes the accounts that you want to have in the Starter File.

HINT-- You can use the Find command to see which items are already checked. You can also use the Replace All command to change the checkbox value in many accounts at once.
