Do I have the Latest MacNail? |
Problem wants to know if they have the latest version of MacNail construction management software Diagnosis seems like 50% of tech calls nowadays are just "do I have the latest" questions. NOTE-- MacNail construction software is doomed because Microsoft retired the original macro language in 1995, and switched to Visual Basic. That means that a few more things stop working at each new version of Excel. Rather than rewrite all the code to get back to the same place, we decided to write a stand-alone program (Goldenseal), which gives us a better interface and fewer problems. Note that the 'code change' problems in Excel (which MS has still not fixed) also contributed to this decision. Solution You can check users in the database and reassure them about vsns (only if they purchased before 97 is there worry about having outdated versions). NOTE-- As of 2010, we still have some die-hard MacNail users. However, Goldenseal has now been out in full release for ten years, plus a few years in beta. Our new small business software is mature, and way better than MacNail ever was. It will only continue to improve! Comments Entered 10/27/99 by Dennis. Updated 11/24/2010. |
