Clairvoyant Fields in Clients |
Problem The user is signed onto the Multi-User version of Goldenseal accounting software, as a client. They want to enter into a clairvoyant field that has a large number of items. Goldenseal shows a progress bar, then gives an error message about a bad or missing view, and then quits. Diagnosis Only happens on clients when they enter from a large # of choices, e.g. Assemblies into an Estimate. It's more likely to happen on a slow network. Solution This is a bug fixed in version 3.0 of Goldenseal multi-user accounting software. Workaround for earlier versions-- since this usually happens when entering Assemblies, they can enter a category first so the list is short. Comments Entered 11/15/04 by Casey. Updated 11/5/2010. NOTE-- We have had similar problems several times in the past. When a progress window appears
it tends to call code that "tidies up" the original window, which may mean that fields may get deleted. When
it then tries to use the field, it gives a "bad xxxxx" error message. |
