Using the Takeoff Manual

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic Material Takeoff Software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal Material Takeoff Software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

This manual is a supplement to the manual that came with your BidMagic construction estimating programs. It is divided into several sections:

* This Getting Started chapter provides you with general information about the Takeoff Module and its capabilities, and shows you how to install it onto your hard drive.
* The Material Takeoffs chapter shows you how to generate material takeoffs (purchase lists) from your rough estimates and finished bids.
* The Updating Material Prices chapter shows you how to use the Material Manager to maintain a price book of your most common materials supplies, and how to use it to keep all your bids up-to-date.
* The Using Material Assemblies chapter shows you how to create and use material assemblies, which are used to create takeoffs and update material prices.
* The Sharing Prices With MacNail chapter shows you how to transfer information between the Material Manager and MacNail Customizing.
* The Menu Commands chapter covers each of the menu commands in the Takeoff module. This chapter also contains a table of keyboard shortcuts.
