Estimate Troubleshooting

NOTE-- In 2000 we completely replaced MacNail with the newer Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for their use! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, job costing and contract writing features. It is much more reliable than MacNail!

There is not enough memory to perform this function

The MacNail construction estimating software checks available memory, and warns you if there is too little for certain memory-intensive commands. You can 'try anyway', but you may have to stop midway through the operation which may leave the worksheets in a partly-finished state. If that happens, close all worksheets without saving changes.

Be sure to save all worksheets before you try anyway when you get this message. You may also be able to free up additional memory first (see page 176).

Too Many MacNail Menu Commands

If you open a manager more than once, it will add the MacNail menu commands each time. This will not prevent you from using them, but will make the menus very long.

Close all open Excel documents, and re-open the Estimating Manager.
