Estimating Room Counts

NOTE-- In 2000 we retired MacNail and replaced it with Goldenseal project estimating software. There are still die-hard MacNail users, so we keep its manuals available online. Goldenseal also includes accounting, job costing and project management. You'll enter room counts into the first Dimensions button, which also lets you set other basic project dimensions.

Entering Project Room Counts

Type the total number of rooms into total room count in the MacNail construction estimator software. Include halls as rooms. Do not include closets.

Type the number of kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms into the cells for each. Type TRUE if you are including a laundry room, otherwise type FALSE.

The number of other rooms will be calculated automatically by the MacNail construction estimating software.

Type in the total number of closets that will be worked on.

Type TRUE if you are including an attic or finished basement. Otherwise type FALSE.

The variable name for each room count is listed to the right of its cell.
