Estimating Demolition Dimensions

NOTE-- In 2000 we introduced Goldenseal construction estimating software, and retired both our older computer software programs (MacNail and BidMagic). There are still die-hard users of both programs, so we keep the manuals online for their use! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, job costing and contract writing features. The set of demolition dimensions used in Goldenseal is slightly broader than the ones in MacNail.

Demolition Dimensions

Scroll down, if necessary, to see the next section. Type the following measurements into the MacNail construction estimating software:

1. Type in 20 for the contact length between the addition and the existing building.
2. Choose Unprotect Document from the OPTIONS menu. Leave the worksheet unprotected, because a few more protected cells will need to be typed over, later on (see page 60). Use the RETURN or TAB key now to move from cell to cell, instead of the ENTER key.
3. Type in 3 for wall demolition (to make way for the doorway into the main house).
4. Type in 0 for floor demolition.

Other Structures

Leave these cells blank, since we will not be building a garage, deck or porch.
