Estimators

NOTE-- In 2000 we retired MacNail and BidMagic (our earlier estimating programs), and replaced them with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still die-hard MacNail users, for whom we keep the manuals online. Goldenseal also includes accounting, job costing and project management. In Goldenseal, Estimating templates work the same as MacNail estimators.

Construction Estimators

When you adjust an estimator to suit your own conditions, we call it 'customizing'. To create custom estimators in the MacNail construction estimating software:

1. Choose *New Estimate from the FILE menu.
2. Click Make a New Estimator to create a new estimator, or click Change an Estimator to change an existing one.
3. Choose (from the scrolling list) the estimator to use as a source.
4. If you are making a new estimator type in a name for it.
