Customizing Options

NOTE-- We retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still a significant number of die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features.

Customizing Options

Choose Customizing Options to set the way some customizing operations are performed by the MacNail construction management software.

Turn on Just one Price Master if you'll use only the MacNail Price Master. Turn it off if you'll use more than one Price Master (see page 90).

Turn on Just one set of Material Price Files if you'll use only the MacNail Price Sheet and its matching Material Price files. Turn it off if you'll use more than one set of Material Price files (see page 92).

In the Default wage rate box, type in the skilled wage rate MacNail should use if it runs into a skilled wage rate that is not defined on the worksheet to which it is being applied. The wage rate you type into this box should be defined in the Fixed Costs portion of your estimating worksheets, or your labor calculations will show a #VALUE! error message.
