Payroll Date Options |
Choose Date Options from the Options menu to set the start of your pay periods (used when creating Labor Reports and Payroll Reports) and the start of your fiscal month (used when creating Financial Reports for 'this month' or 'last month'). NOTE-- In 2000, MacNail was replaced by Goldenseal construction payroll software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. In Goldenseal, you'll set details about pay periods in Wage Schedules. Weekly and Biweekly pay periods If you are using weekly or biweekly pay periods in Payroll Options, you'll see the following dialog when you choose the Date Options command. If you switch from some other pay period to weekly or biweekly, you'll also be shown this dialog. Type in a date for the start of the fiscal month, and select a day of the week on which to begin the pay period. For example, if you type in a 1 for the start date of the fiscal month, then Financial Reports for 'this month' or 'last month' will run from the first to the last of the month. If you type in a 15, Financial Reports made for 'this month' or 'last month' will run from the 15th of one month to the 14th of the following month. If you select Sunday as the start of the pay period, then weekly payroll will be based on Sunday through Saturday of the same week, while a biweekly payroll period will be from Sunday until Saturday of the following week (13 days later). If you change to biweekly payroll from some other time interval, you'll also be asked to type in a start date for the first pay period. Type in the start date of any of the biweekly pay periods, and the MacNail accounting software will always know which of the two possible starting days to use. |
