Monthly Payroll Settings |
NOTE-- In 2000, MacNail was replaced by Goldenseal construction payroll software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. You'll set up pay period info in Wage Schedules. Monthly pay period If you are using a monthly pay period in Payroll Options, you'll be shown the following dialog when you choose Date Options from the Options menu. You'll also be shown this dialog if you switch to monthly from some other pay period. You'll set the Fiscal month the same as you would for weekly payroll, as described in the previous
section. Because some months only have 28 days, your fiscal or payroll month cannot start on any date after the 28th! Semimonthly pay period If you are using a semi-monthly (twice a month) pay period in Payroll Options, you'll be shown the following dialog when you choose Date Options from the Options menu. You'll also be shown this dialog if you switch to semi-monthly from some other type of pay period. Type in the start of the fiscal month (described under weekly pay periods), the start of the first monthly pay period, and the start of the second monthly pay period. For example, if you type in 1 and 15 for the two payroll starting dates, your first semi-monthly pay period will run from the 1st to the 14th, and the second pay period will run from the 15th until the end of the month. NOTE: The first pay period must start between the first and the 14th of the month, and the second pay period must start between the 15th and the 28th. XXX Day pay period If you are using an xxx day pay period, you only need to enter the start of the fiscal month, using the Date Options command. When you first select an xxxx day pay period, you'll be asked to type in the first starting day of the pay period. Type in the starting date for any pay period, and the starting date of all other periods will be calculated automatically. If you select a pay period of less than 7 days and use the 'Constant weekday' option for payday, some pay periods will have the same payday. The MacNail accounting software does not currently support fractional-day pay periods (for example, twice a week). If this is something that you require, please let us know and we will support this option in future versions. |
