When to Use Sales Branches

Create sales branches if you sell from more than one location.  You can also use them to separate sales from different departments or different offices, whether or not they are at different locations.

Entering Sales Branches

To enter a Sales Branch, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Income Setup from the Income menu, then choose Sales Branches from the submenu.
  2. Click the New button, or click on an existing item and click the Edit button.
  3. Enter details for this branch.

Data Fields

Enter the following information for each Sales Branch:

Name-- Enter a brief name for the branch.
Description-- Enter any comments you have about this sales branch.
Category System-- Enter the Category System that is used to classify sales at this branch.
Overhead Account-- Enter the Overhead account used for overhead costs at this branch.

Sales Tax-- Enter the Sales Tax rate used for sales from this branch.

Tax Rate at Sales Branches

If you enter a Sales Tax rate in the sales branch, that tax rate will be used for Sales from this branch.
However if you use a Delivery Method on the sale, the Delivery Method determines whether to use
the sales branch rate or the rate in the Customer account .

Using Sales Branches

The Sales Branch appears in Sales transactions. When you enter each sale, enter the branch into the Sales Branch field.

HINT-- To save time, create Sales templates that already contain the correct Sales Branch (and any other information you'd like to start with).
