Rental Units

Use Rental Units to identify each rental unit in your rental properties.

Entering Rental Units

To add, view or change Rental Units, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Income Setup from the Income menu, then choose Rental Units from the submenu.
  2. Click the New button, or click on an existing item and click the Edit button.
  3. Enter details for the rental unit.

Data Fields

Enter the following information for each Rental Unit:

Name-- Type in a brief name for this unit. This is the text that will appear in clairvoyant fields.
Comments-- Type in any comments you'd like to make about this item.
Property-- If you are making a new rental unit, enter the Real Estate account where it is located.
Payment Terms-- Enter the Rental Payment Terms that you usually use for this unit.
Rental Type-- Enter the type of rental unit this is.
Rent Amount-- Enter the current rent for this unit.
Details-- Enter any text you'd like to use to describe this unit.

Features-- Click on the checkboxes to mark the features that are available in this unit.
Size-- Enter the area of this rental unit.
Bedrooms-- Enter the number of bedrooms in this unit.
Current Tenant-- If there is an active lease for this unit, Goldenseal fills in the tenant's name.
Lease Start-- If there is an active lease for this unit, Goldenseal fills in the lease start date.
Lease End-- If there is an active lease for this unit, Goldenseal fills in the lease end date.

Using Rental Units

Goldenseal displays each rental unit in the Real Estate Account where it is located.

To see a report of all rental units, choose Rentals from the Reports menu, and choose Rental Units from the submenu.

You can also get Reports with a breakdown by rental unit.
