Door Removal Cost |
Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION Construction demolition unit cost for removal of a door. Unit Size One door. Labor Costs We figure about 40 minutes of carpenter time to dismantle an interior door down to the framing, plus a little laborer time. The cost is based on old-style door construction, with salvaging of the trim and door. If you are just popping out modern hollow core prehung units, the time will probably be more like 10 or 15 minutes. Add additional time for exterior doors, if the door contains lead paint that requires containment, or if you have to do a lot of futzing with the trim. Material Costs We throw in a smidgen of wrecking bar (one lost per 100 doors), which also helps to cover gloves, dust masks and other incidentals. Suggested Quantity We suggest the door count. That will probably be right for a total gut/rehab project. For others, type in the actual number of doors you'll be removing.
