Plywood Site Fencing Cost

Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION

Plywood fencing surrounding a long term job site-- eight foot height. The unit size is one lineal foot of fencing.

Construction Details

One 4x4 treated post every eight feet, with three 2x6 cross members supporting half-inch exterior plywood.

Labor Costs

We figure that a crew consisting of one skilled worker (carpenter) and one unskilled worker will install 5 feet of fencing per hour.

Material Costs

The cost includes lumber, plywood and nails. It does not include painting or any other finish work.

Source of Construction Pricing

Adapted from Turtle Creek Construction's unit cost data for concrete formwork and fencing.

Experienced crews that install large quantities of site fencing can probably do it quicker than our costing data.

Comments

This unit cost does not include any salvage value for the plywood, lumber or posts. If you are able to re-use the components, figure a negative waste factor of maybe -25% to -33% to account for reuse.
