This construction unit cost covers the daily rental cost for one scaffolding section.

Unit Size

The unit size is one scaffold section rented for one day, with a small amount of setup and takedown time.

Labor Costs

We figure 1 skilled hour (carpenter) per 100 sections, and 1 unskilled hours per 10 sections. This cost is slanted for fairly large projects where the scaffolding sits around for one to several weeks.

Material Costs

The cost includes 1/30 of the monthly rental costs for one scaffold section.

Suggested Quantity

We don't suggest a quantity for this item, since there is no construction dimension that is good at predicting the amount of scaffolding that is required for a project.

Source of Construction Pricing

Labor costs are based on our job cost numbers from a few projects. Material costs are based on local rentals.

Comments

If you own your own scaffolding, you can include this item as Assembly Labor so it covers typical setup and takedown labor. You can also use the unit cost "as is" and figure that the rental amount will cover your repair costs and give you some return on your investment.
