Truss Joist Installation Cost

Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION

Framing estimating unit cost for installing truss joist beams.

Unit Size

One lineal foot of structural beam.

Labor Costs

We figure 50 feet of beam installed per hour of carpenter time, with a little unskilled help.

Material Costs

One foot of truss joist beam (TJ135 size).

Suggested Quantity

No suggested quantity. Enter the length of beam required.

Source of Construction Pricing

Labor costs are based on crew timing and job cost data from several remodeling projects.

This cost is based on a TJ135 beam simply because that is the first structural truss joist beam we ended up installing when we first developed the cost database for Turtle Creek Construction.

If you use other beam sizes frequently, set up a Cost Item for each beam and an Assembly for its installation.

If you use other beam sizes for just one project, enter this item into an estimate as an Assembly Labor item-- that way it will include the labor cost for the beam installation without the material cost. List the beam itself as a material line item in the estimate.

Places Included

Architect Starter File, Construction Starter File, Developer Starter File.
