Treated Wood Foundation Cost |
Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION Construction estimating unit cost for treated basement wall framing, in replacement of a masonry or concrete foundation. This cost covers the cost of installing 2x8 wall studs in a treated foundation wall. It does not include the sill plate or fatening to the footing. It also does not include treated sheathing. Unit Size One lineal foot of treated foundation framing. Labor Costs We figure about 4 1/2 lineal feet of framing per hour for a skilled carpenter with a little help from an unskilled helper. Material Costs We figure 12.5 lineal feet of treated 2x8 framing lumber per foot of wall. That covers 12" stud spacing with a single plat over the sill and a double plate at the top, with some additional material for corner framing and an occasional window opening. Suggested Quantity Goldenseal calculates the total foundation length. Source of Construction Pricing Turtle Creek Construction developed these costs based on upper story framing costs. We never actually installed any treated foundations, but several users have reported that the pricing is reasonable.
