Construction unit cost for installation of 3/8" (11 mm) plywood roof sheathing.

Unit Size

One square foot of roof framing area.

Labor Costs

We figure that a carpenter can install about 80 square feet of sheathing per hour, with a little help from an unskilled worker.

Material Costs

One sheet covers 32 square feet, with 10% waste factor.

NOTE-- This waste factor is reasonable for remodeling and smaller projects. You may want to reduce it to 5% for new construction, where there is less cutting loss.
