Curtain Drain Cost (New Foundation)

Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION

Construction unit cost for a curtain drain (perimeter drain) along a new foundation wall.

Unit Size

One lineal foot of drain.

Labor and Equipment Costs

We figure that an unskilled worker can install about 17 lineal feet of drain per hour. We also include an hour of "Bobcat" style loader time for every 33 feet of drain, to clear out debris, level the drainage area and then install gravel backfill.

NOTE-- This price does not include backfilling of the entire foundation hole.

Material Costs

A little more than one lineal foot of 4" perforated drain line per foot of foundation wall (the extra amount covers a drain to daylight). We also include some bank run gravel to cover the line, and fiberglas mat to reduce infiltration of silt.

Suggested Quantity

Goldenseal suggests the entire foundation perimeter length.

Source of Construction Pricing

Based on job cost data from several additions and new construction projects done by Turtle Creek Construction.
