Bank Run Gravel Backfill Cost

Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION

Excavation unit cost for backfilling foundations or other excavation work with bank run gravel, using a small "Bobcat" style loader.

Unit Size

One cubic yard of gravel fill.

Labor and Equipment Costs

We figure about 6 1/2 cubic yards of gravel fill per hour of loader time (with operator), plus one unskilled laborer hour for every 100 cubic yards of fill work.

This price assumes that the gravel is piled close to the destination. Add additional time if there is a long hauling distance.

Material Costs

One ton of bank run gravel per cubic yard of fill.

Suggested Quantity

Goldenseal calculates the foundation backfill volume, using fairly simple geometric assumptions. Adjust the quantity if your conditions are different.

Source of Construction Pricing

This pricing is based on actual timing of two remodeling projects done by Turtle Creek Construction.
