Starting with Goldenseal small business sofware version 4.7, we do a somewhat better job of handling the three different types of line endings used on different platforms (Return on Mac OS 9, Line Feed on Mac OS X, and Return/Linefeed on Windows).

In multi-line fields, line returns are stored in the same format for all platforms, and then adjusted as needed to display properly on screen. When you export data, you can control the line endings in Options--Preferences--File. There is now a popup field there that allows you to choose any of the three possible types of line endings.

How to Use

If you are exporting data from Goldenseal and want to set it for the platform that will open the export file, follow these steps:

1. Choose Preferences from the Options menu, and choose File from the submenu.
2. Click on the Line Endings popup field, and choose the platform.
3. Click OK.
