Category-Only Printed Forms

Making a printed form that only shows a category breakdown, used to list them in the order that categories were first entered.

Starting with Goldenseal 3.5, it now lists them in either of two orders:

  • If the Sort Category Names option is turned on in Interface Preferences, they'll be listed alphabetically.
  • If the Sort Category Names option is turned off, they'll be listed in whatever order they were entered in the Category System used for the transaction. If there is no category system, they are listed alphabetically.

How to Use

This improvement applies mainly to the Category Only printed form for Estimates.

To change the order of printing for categories in general, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Preferences from the Options menu, and choose Interface from the submenu.
  2. Change the Sort Category Names checkbox.
  3. Click OK.

To use a different system of categories for an estimate, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Estimates from the Income menu.
  2. Locate an estimate you'd like to print.
  3. Click the More Info button.
  4. Enter a different Category System into the Category System field.
  5. Click OK.
