Account Comments in Transactions

Starting with Goldenseal accounting software version 3.1, you can show text from the Comments field of an Account, in Sales transactions or other transactions for that account.

For example, it's a way to include special instructions, account numbers or any other information in a Sale, Material Purchase or other business transaction.

How to Use

To add the Account comments field to a Sales transaction, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Transactions from the submenu.
  2. Click on the Transaction popup field at upper left, and choose Sales.
  3. Click on the field tool in the tool palette on the left side of the window (fourth row left).
  4. Click in the layout, and drag a rectangle where you'd like the field to appear.
  5. You'll see a list of fields. Choose Main Account Comments and click OK.
  6. Goldenseal will show comments from the main account on the transaction window.

You can also get other info from the main account-- including the address, email, phone number and other info.

When you are using Goldenseal small business accounting software, you can also put the same info onto printed forms if you want. Follow the same steps as described above, but choose Printed Forms from the submenu, in step one.
