reasons why a menu command may be gray, in Goldenseal small
New Business File, Open Business File-- these commands are gray when a company file is already

In other cases there is nothing to print.

Undo-- this command is gray if the previous action cannot be undone.
Cut, Copy, Clear-- these commands are gray if there is no text or graphics selected.

Delete Record-- records can't be deleted if they have "posted" or if another record refers to them.
Save Record-- this command is gray if a record has not changed since the last save.
Revert Record-- this command is gray if a record has not changed since you first opened it.
Table-- these commands are gray when a table is not selected.
Main Account, Second Account, Job Account, Detail Transaction-- these commands only apply to some record types.
Payment Transaction-- available only after a transaction has been paid.
Deposit Transaction-- available only after a transaction has been deposited.
Network Preferences-- available only in the multi-user version.
Estimate Dimensions, Estimate Locations-- available only when an Estimate is in front.
Other Menu Commands
If a command is gray, it may be because you don't have password
access for that item. Sign on
with a different password that provides more access, and
you'll be able to use the commands.
