Making a Calibrated Template

Once you have run a previous project through Goldenseal estimating software and set up an estimate that matches your actual costs, you can turn it into a template that will work for future projects that are similar.

To do so, follow these steps:

  1. If you aren't already viewing the estimate, choose Estimates from the Income menu, and find the estimate.
  2. Choose Template this Item from the Options menu.
  3. Give the new template a name you'll remember, then click OK.

To make a new estimate from the calibrated template, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Estimates from the Income menu.
  2. Click the template button (the triangle next to the New button) and choose the template from the popup menu.

HINTS-- If you entered dimensions for the comparison estimate, you may want to erase the dimension quantities before you make it into a template. If you'd like to save the original comparison estimate, use the Duplicate Record command and then use the duplicate copy as a template.
