Duplicated Estimates

When I duplicate an estimate, it's not the same price as the original!

Yes, that is normal.

When you create a new estimate, Goldenseal estimating software automatically updates all Cost Item and Assembly line items with the most recent price. If any prices have changed since the original, it will result in a different price in the duplicated copy.

NOTE-- We don't update existing estimates when prices change, since that might cause problems if the estimate has already been submitted to the client at the original price.

Bids & Allowances

If the estimate includes Bids or Allowances, they may not be included in the duplicated copy. That can result in a price decrease in the duplicate.

If you want to automatically duplicate all bids and allowances that are included in an estimate, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Preferences from the Options menu, and choose Income from the submenu.
  2. Turn on the Checkbox for Duplicate Allowances & Bids.
  3. Click OK.
  4. The next time you duplicate an Estimate, it will automatically create duplicates of all Allowances and Bids in the original estimate, and include them in the new one.
