Goldenseal is cost estimating software that uses unit costs and assemblies to create fast, accurate estimating for construction work and other projects. The program includes starter file data for several types of businesses. You can also set up your own unit costs to handle the services you provide or the items that you sell. Each Goldenseal assembly includes the labor hours, material components and equipment time needed for that item. Prices update automatically when you enter component purchases. "Smart dimensions" will calculate quantities for each assembly in your projects, based on some simple project measurements. You can also save time with templates, which store the items in your "typical" projects so you don't have to enter them from scratch each time. Many users report that they can hit within 2% to 5% of actual costs on all their projects, even though they spend much less time than estimating by hand.
