Problem
washington state-- special instructions for MacNail construction
payroll software (this is on the pink special instruction
sheet that goes with WA payroll orders) PART
ONE OF TWO
Diagnosis
Washington uses a non-standard method of computing Workman’s Compensation (via the Washington
Industrial Insurance State Fund).
Solution
If all your employees are at the same job classification:
1. Choose *Payroll
Options from the Options menu, and click on Flat Percentage.
2. You will be asked to type in a rate. Type
in the dollar per hour “composite rate” cost
from your Industrial Insurance Rate Notice. This will be the total amount that you pay. The 1991 rate for
Wood Frame Building Construction (Class 0510) is 2.0692 with an experience factor of 1.0, or 1.8656 with an experience
factor of .9.
3. Open the WA Payroll
Blank file, and scroll down to the item labelled Washington Industrial Insurance State
Fund.
4. Type in the dollar per hour payroll deduction shown on the last column of your rate notice. The 1991 rate
for Wood Frame Building Construction (Class 0510) is .38575 with an experience factor of .9.
5. The correct dollar-per-hour deductions will now be made, the next time you create a Payroll Report.
