Problem
making a new master index (YEAR-END), starting over with MacNail accounting software
Diagnosis
They want to 'start over' with a new master index, usually on January 1.
Solution
1. Close all Ledgers and Logs. This step is very important!
2. Open the current Master Index.
3. Choose Save As from the File menu, and save a copy of the Master Index under a different name—for example,
Old Master Index.
4. Close the Master Index copy.
5A. To change the old MI---Choose Master Index from the MacNail (McN) menu to open the original Master Index. 5B. To
make a brand new MI-- choose New Accounting File from the File menu and select Master Index.
6. Make any desired changes, and save changes when you are done.
7. Choose New Accounting File from the File menu to make a complete new set of Ledgers and Logs.
