Check Printing is Misaligned

Problem

Check printing doesn't line up correctly on checks printed from MacNail construction accounting software program. These alignment problems usually happen with dot matrix (ImageWriter) printer

Diagnosis

Is each check off by a little more or a little less than the previous one?

Solution

YES-- May need to widen or shrink some row heights, or fiddle with Page Setup/Print Preview (can change top and bottom margins, etc)
NO-- Can cut/paste blocks on the check blank to get things where they should be, e.g. so they will fit in a window envelope.
May also need to tinker with Margins (in Page Setup) or print at 95 to 98% to shrink it to fit. Can use 'Page Preview' to make sure it fits on one page.

Shipments from Fall 91 should probably be sent a new disk-- they are now set up to print in window envelopes, and some early formatting errors have been corrected.

NOTE-- Goldenseal accounting software includes a Custom Layouts window, where you can set up the alignment of printed checks and other printed forms. It's much easier to use than Excel's page layout.
